About This Material
Subfloor adhesive (PL400, Liquid Nails) is applied to floor joists before laying OSB panels to eliminate squeaky floors. Adhesive bonds significantly improve floor system stiffness.
Installation Tips
- •Apply a continuous bead — do not dot the adhesive.
- •Work in sections and lay panels before adhesive skins over.
- •Use a caulk gun with a 1/4" nozzle.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping adhesive to save time — squeaky floors are hard to fix after the fact.
- Applying adhesive on wet or frozen joists.
